Over the course of a month in the Fall of 2020, an endeavor to create interesting and possibly danceable versions of holiday classics that wouldn't be out of place on TV turned into a full fledged Christmas album by Rubber Lightning.
Christmas Special is a collection of tried and true Xmas tunes reimagined for our strange times, plus a few holiday inspired originals that may soon be classics too.
As drummers, RL took a break from that seat to explore a range of historic drum machines and whatever percussion they could find. The result is a satisfying mix of toy pianos, glockenspiels, vibes, things that go boing and, of course, sleigh bells.
